The Healthy Cities for Adolescents Program launched its “Postcard from My City” campaign during
Urban October beginning on World Habitat Day (4th October), featuring diverse voices throughout
the month capturing the proposals and ideas for a sustainable, safe and healthy city. We share the
highlights of the campaign with an infographic aligning with the World Cities Day, Better City, Better
Life.

The objective of the campaign was to mobilise diverse city stakeholders including young people
encouraging them to share their views on the impact of urbanisation on their cities. Voices captured
in the postcards reflected on the building blocks of a healthy city, issues such as equitable access to
resources, health services, education, mobility, and public spaces, and change they would like to see
to better aid adolescents in their development and well-being.

In her postcard, UN-Habitat ED Maimunah Mohd Sharif called for meaningful partnerships with young people to build a city that is inclusive, healthy, and safe, and one that caters to improving the well-being of adolescents.
